Bob Burnquist’s Dreamland is a private skate park located at his residence in Vista, California. This custom-built facility serves as a personal training ground and a creative space for Burnquist and other professional skateboarders. The park features several unique structures:
  • Wooden Vert Bowl: The initial construction in Dreamland, later upgraded with concrete for enhanced durability and performance.
  • Metal Full Pipe: A cylindrical structure allowing for continuous loops and advanced maneuvers.
  • Loop with Roof Gap: Built for the 2002 King of Skate event, this loop includes an opening in the roof, adding complexity to the trick execution.
  • Corkscrew: A spiraling ramp that challenges riders with its twisting path.
The centerpiece of Dreamland is the MegaRamp, one of the few permanent structures of its kind worldwide. It comprises a 50- to 70-foot gap jump leading directly into a 30-foot quarterpipe. This setup facilitates the practice of high-flying tricks and has been utilized by renowned skateboarders such as Elliot Sloan, Danny Way, and Jake Brown.
In 2013, Burnquist expanded the park with a hip ramp positioned at a 90-degree angle to the MegaRamp’s quarterpipe. This addition was featured in his video “Dreamland,” produced in collaboration with Oakley, showcasing the innovative features of the compound.
Dreamland has been instrumental in the progression of skateboarding, providing a venue for professionals to push the boundaries of the sport. It has been featured in numerous magazines and videos, including Tony Hawk’s Trick Tips and Thrasher Magazine.
